New Canon EOS R6 Mark III
32.5MP full-frame CMOS / Up to 7K, 4K high frame rates
₹2,43,995 – ₹2,71,995
Short answer: for professional wedding work in 2026, the Canon EOS R6 Mark III, Sony a7 IV and Nikon Z6 III are the three cameras to shortlist. They’re all full-frame with dual card slots, reliable eye autofocus and strong video. On a tighter budget, the Nikon Z5 II is the best-value full-frame body.
Indian weddings are long, dim and fast-moving: haldi in harsh daylight, pheras under a dark mandap, a reception lit by coloured LEDs, and thousands of photos across two or three days. That means:
| Camera | Approx. price (Oct 2026) | Why choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Canon EOS R6 Mark III | ₹2.44 lakh body | 32.5MP, 7K video, newest Canon AF, IBIS |
| Sony a7 IV | ₹1.82 lakh body | 33MP, huge lens choice, the most common wedding body |
| Nikon Z6 III | ₹2.29 lakh with 24-70 f/4 | Partially stacked sensor, very bright EVF, 6K RAW |
| Nikon Z5 II | ₹1.39 lakh body | Best-value full-frame with flagship AF |
Sony a7 IV has the biggest third-party lens ecosystem, so f/2.8 zooms and fast primes are cheaper. Canon R6 Mark III is the newest and best-rounded for hybrid photo/video teams. Nikon Z6 III has the best viewfinder for outdoor ceremonies in bright sun.
A wedding kit is usually two or three lenses:
See our portrait lens guide.
You don’t need the newest body to start. A Z5 II or a7 IV with a Tamron f/2.8 zoom, a 50mm or 85mm prime and one good flash will cover most weddings. Spend on lenses and backup first; upgrade the body when the work pays for it. If you’re deciding between APS-C and full-frame, read APS-C vs full-frame.
If you’re switching systems, bring your memory cards and a few test subjects to our Paldi store. We’ll set up bodies side by side so you can compare high-ISO files and autofocus under our indoor lighting.
Full-frame mirrorless bodies from Sony (a7 III/a7 IV), Canon (R6 series) and Nikon (Z6 series) are the most common, usually paired with a 24-70mm f/2.8 zoom and an 85mm prime.
It can work for second shooters and smaller functions, but full-frame handles dim mandaps and evening receptions noticeably better, and most APS-C bodies have a single card slot.
Yes. Receptions, sangeets and haldi ceremonies under tents are often dark or lit by coloured LEDs. A bounce flash like the Godox V860III gives clean, natural skin tones.
